(A. J. LeBlanc)
l'Ambassadeur

"Top Cat on That Gator's Back"

Antoine (A. J.) LeBlanc, founder of  "Monde des Cadiens" (Cajun World) has earned the title of "Ambassadeur."  He has been in the forefront of the effort in Central Acadiana and throughout Louisiana to bring together the rich attractions of the area with interested visitors.  Antoine's (A.J.) distinction is that his work in making a visit to Central Acadiana a rich experience has centered on more than the "Cajun World."  He is the Ambassadeur for all people of all cultures, ethnic groups and national origins who make this area special.

Antoine has been active at all levels in tourism promotion, serving as a member of the Louisiana Tourist Development Commission, member of the Louisiana Scenic Byways Commission, President of the Board of the Louisiana Travel Promotion Association, President of the Louisiana Fairs and Festivals Association, organizer and President of the Louisiana Attractions Association, President of the Lafayette Chapter-Council for the Development of French in Louisiana (CODOFIL), and board member for the Acadiana Chapter of the Louisiana Restaurant Association.  He has held the honor of Louisiana Travel Attraction Employee of the Year, bestowed by the Louisiana Travel Association and the Louisiana Attractions Association for his development of programs and activities at Acadian Village and his contributions to the developmentally disabled clients of the Alleman Developmental Center.  He was "King Cotton" of the King Cotton Festival, Ville Platte, Louisiana.  He has served as president of the Lafayette Parish (County) governing body, and is currently serving as President of CAFA (Confederation of Associations of Families Acadian.)  In addition, he was the "Cajun  French Music Association" 1991 CFMA Ambassador at Large.  Also honored with the "Louisiana Restaurant Association" 1989 Distinguished Service Award.
